Glutathione: The Body's Master Antioxidant
Glutathione is a tripeptide antioxidant produced naturally in the body from three amino acids: glycine, cysteine, and glutamine. It is present in virtually every cell and plays a central role in neutralizing reactive oxygen species, supporting immune function, and facilitating the liver's detoxification processes. Published research on glutathione documents its central role as the principal endogenous antioxidant. Glutathione levels decline with age, chronic stress, alcohol consumption, environmental toxin exposure, and chronic illness.
Oral glutathione supplementation has poor bioavailability because the molecule is broken down in the digestive tract before it reaches the bloodstream. Studies on intravenous glutathione show that direct delivery achieves circulating concentrations not reachable orally. At these concentrations, glutathione exerts its documented antioxidant and skin brightening effects by inhibiting melanin synthesis and protecting skin cells from oxidative damage. It is the most requested add-on to IV drips at Tactus Health.

Skin Brightening Is a Series, Not a Single Visit
Glutathione skin brightening works on a cumulative timeline. A single push will not produce visible change. A series across 2 to 3 months will. We administer the glutathione push at our Sugar Hill clinic at 1400 Buford Hwy NE Suite K 2, either standalone or layered onto another IV drip in the same session.
Book online or call (678) 892-9230 for same-day appointments. Patients pursuing skin brightening typically commit to bi-weekly sessions before transitioning to monthly maintenance.

Dr. Ashar N.
Dr. Ashar holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and two national board certifications, one in family practice and one in psychiatric mental health.
She founded Tactus Health to close the gap she watched her own family fall through: symptoms that were real, labs that came back normal, and no one willing to connect the two.
She is responsible for the protocols our medical team follows, and for the training of the clinicians who deliver them. Holding both certifications is why those protocols treat hormones, mood, sleep and metabolism as one system rather than five separate appointments.

Glutathione IV and Push FAQ
Yes. High-dose IV glutathione inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that catalyzes melanin production, reducing formation of darker pigments and producing a brighter, more even skin tone over a series. Research on glutathione for skin brightening supports both IV and IM routes. The effect is cumulative and most visible after a series of sessions.
Both are effective. Adding a glutathione push at the end of any IV drip is most efficient because it rides on top of the hydration and nutrient status established by the drip. The standalone IM injection delivers the same molecule as a quick shot for patients who do not have time for a full IV session. For skin brightening goals, the IV push after a drip produces the most consistent results.
For skin brightening, most patients see the best results from sessions every 2 weeks for the first 2 to 3 months, then transitioning to monthly maintenance. The brightening effect is cumulative and requires consistency.
Yes. Glutathione is a naturally occurring molecule produced by every cell in the body. At the doses used in IV wellness therapy it is very well tolerated. Rare reactions include mild flushing or temporary headache. Your health history is reviewed before your first session.
Yes. The liver is the organ most dependent on glutathione for its detoxification functions. Alcohol consumption depletes hepatic glutathione rapidly. Replenishing it via IV supports the liver's ability to process and eliminate acetaldehyde and other alcohol metabolites.
Yes. Same-day appointments are available for the IM glutathione injection and for adding a glutathione push to an IV drip, subject to chair availability. Call (678) 892-9230 to confirm an open slot, or book online.
