The Process

From First Contact to Treatment, Step by Step

1
Getting Started
Book Your Free Consultation

Choose an available time online or call (678) 892-9230. Evening and Saturday appointments are available for telehealth patients. You’ll receive a confirmation with the secure video link, no app download required.

Consultation is free. No commitment required. We’ll confirm via text or email within a few hours of booking.
2
Your Video Visit
Meet with Dr. Ashar

Your consultation is a real clinical visit, 30 to 45 minutes with Dr. Ashar on a HIPAA-compliant video platform. She’ll review your symptoms, health history, medications, and goals. You’ll have the same conversation you’d have in the exam room, from wherever you are.

All you need: a phone, tablet, or computer with camera and microphone. A quiet, private space. An internet connection. That’s it.
3
Lab Work
Get Your Blood Work Done Locally

After your consultation, our providers send a lab order electronically. You take it to your nearest Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp location, no appointment needed at most sites. Walk in, hand them the order, and you’re done in 15-20 minutes. Results are typically available within 48-72 hours.

We have access to 2,000+ Quest and Labcorp draw sites nationwide. Use our lab finder tool to locate the closest one.
Before You Go , Lab Prep Checklist
1Check if your panels require fasting. Not all labs do. Metabolic, lipid, and insulin panels require fasting 8-12 hours (water is fine). Thyroid, CBC, vitamin, kidney, liver, hormone, and inflammatory panels do not require fasting. Your lab order from our providers will specify, and when in doubt call (678) 892-9230 before you fast unnecessarily.
2Drink plenty of water. Good hydration makes the draw faster and easier and significantly reduces bruising. Aim for 16-24 oz before you leave home.
3Take your usual morning medications unless Dr. Ashar specifically told you otherwise. Do not skip medication just to fast.
4Bring photo ID and your lab order. Our providers send the requisition electronically, but having the PDF on your phone is a useful backup. No appointment needed at most Quest and Labcorp locations.
4
Lab Review
Our providers review Your Results

Our providers review your labs personally, not a staff member, not an AI, not a checklist. Our medical team evaluates your results in the context of your symptoms and health history and determines whether treatment is appropriate and, if so, what protocol is right for you.

Most lab results are reviewed and actioned within 1-2 business days of receipt. You’ll be notified by text or phone once your protocol is ready.

Prescription
Your Prescription Is Sent

Our providers send your prescription electronically to our partner pharmacy. For compounded medications (GLP-1, TRT injections and gels, compounded HRT), the pharmacy prepares your specific formulation and ships directly to your address.

Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from the date the prescription is sent. Medication arrives in plain, unbranded packaging with no mention of hormones, weight loss, or Tactus Health on the outside of the box. Your health is your business. For injectable protocols, step-by-step video tutorials are included alongside printed instructions. Our providers can walk you through your first administration on a brief follow-up call if you want extra support.
6
Ongoing Care
Follow-Up Labs & Monitoring

At 6-12 weeks (depending on your service), you’ll repeat labs at a local Quest or Labcorp. Our providers review the follow-up results and adjust your protocol as needed in a brief video follow-up visit. This iterative process continues quarterly, because optimization is ongoing, not one-and-done.

Direct messaging access is available between visits. Questions, side effects, or updates don’t need to wait until your next scheduled appointment.
Good to Know

Common Questions About the Process

How long does it take from booking to receiving treatment?
Most patients complete their consultation and labs within 7-10 days of booking. From the day your prescription is sent, add 5-7 days for delivery. The typical total timeline from booking to first treatment is 2-3 weeks.
What if my labs don’t support treatment?
Dr. Ashar will tell you directly. If your labs don’t support the service you were seeking, she’ll explain why, discuss what the results do show, and recommend an appropriate path forward, which may be a different service, a different approach, or a follow-up at a later date.
Do I need a primary care doctor or referral?
No. Tactus Health is a direct-pay practice. You book directly, we provide care directly. No referral, no gatekeeper, no prior authorization. We do recommend maintaining a relationship with a primary care provider for general health maintenance, but you don’t need their permission to see us.
What if I have questions between appointments?
All patients have access to direct messaging with the care team. Questions about side effects, dosing, or your protocol can be answered without waiting for a scheduled visit. We respond to messages during business hours within the same day.
What states are covered for telehealth?
Coverage depends on the service. Medical weight loss, peptides, and B12 are available by telehealth. TRT and HRT are currently available in Georgia only. If you’re unsure whether your state is covered for a specific service, book a free consultation and we’ll confirm before you commit to anything.
What if I want to switch to in-person later?
Telehealth patients who live near or visit Sugar Hill, GA can always come in for in-person visits. Many patients start telehealth and transition to a hybrid approach, telehealth follow-ups with occasional in-person visits for things like aesthetics or in-office procedures.
