Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Tactus Health services — weight loss, hormones, aesthetics, telehealth, and how to get started.

Getting Started
How do I get started with Tactus Health?

Book a free consultation — online here or by calling (678) 892-9230. Choose in person at our Sugar Hill, GA clinic, or a telehealth visit. The consultation is 30–45 minutes with Dr. Ashar. No commitment required. If labs are needed, she’ll send the order same day.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Tactus Health is a direct-pay practice. We don’t bill insurance. Pricing is transparent — you know what you’re paying before you commit. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, and Afterpay.

Who is my provider?

All clinical services are provided by Dr. Ashar N., DNP, APRN, FNP-C — Medical Director and sole clinical provider. Our medical team performs every consultation, reviews every lab, and manages every prescription. No rotating staff, no handoffs. You see the same provider at every visit.

Where are you located?

Our clinic is at 1400 Buford Hwy NE, Suite K 2, Sugar Hill, GA 30518 — serving Gwinnett County and surrounding areas in person. Telehealth is available by telehealth. See our clinic info page for directions and hours.

Medical Weight Loss
What’s the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?

Semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy) is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that reduces appetite and slows gastric emptying — average clinical trial weight loss ~15%. Tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound) adds a second mechanism (GIP agonism) and produces greater average weight loss (~20%). Both are weekly injections. Dr. Ashar will recommend based on your health history and goals. See the full tirzepatide comparison.

How much weight will I lose?

Clinical trials show average weight loss of 15% (semaglutide) and 20% (tirzepatide) of starting body weight over 12–16 months at maximum therapeutic doses. Individual results vary based on starting weight, dose achieved, diet, and activity level. Some patients exceed these averages; some achieve less. Dr. Ashar will give you an honest assessment based on your specific situation.

Will I regain weight when I stop?

Clinical data shows most patients regain a significant portion of lost weight after stopping GLP-1 medications — obesity is a chronic condition, and these medications manage it rather than cure it. Long-term use planning, behavioral support, and maintenance dosing strategies are all part of the conversation Dr. Ashar has with patients.

Hormone Therapy
How do I know if I have low testosterone?

The only reliable way to diagnose low T is through blood work — total and free testosterone, typically two tests confirming levels below 300 ng/dL combined with clinical symptoms. Symptoms like fatigue, low libido, brain fog, and muscle loss are strong indicators. Book a free consultation to order labs and discuss your symptoms with Dr. Ashar.

Is HRT safe for women?

For most healthy women under 60 who are within 10 years of menopause, current evidence from NAMS and ACOG supports HRT as safe and effective. The risks depend heavily on type of hormones used, your age, when you start, and your personal health history. Our providers conduct a thorough risk assessment before prescribing. See the full HRT hub for detail.

Telehealth
What states do you serve via telehealth?

We offer telehealth by telehealth. See our full telehealth page for the states we currently serve.

How long does it take to receive my medication?

From the time your prescription is sent to the pharmacy, allow 5–7 business days for delivery. Most patients complete their consultation and labs within 7–10 days of their first appointment — meaning treatment typically begins within 2–3 weeks of booking.
