Progressive Circumference Reduction. The Results Are Measurable.

Cavitation is most effective on areas with a pinchable fat layer: abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, upper arms, and back. It is not a weight loss treatment and does not produce dramatic single-session results. What it produces is progressive, measurable circumference reduction over a series of 6-10 sessions when paired with adequate hydration, a stable diet, and consistent session spacing. Duluth patients who commit to a full series consistently see the best results.

How It Works

Acoustic Cavitation. Fat Cell Disruption. Progressive Results.

Cavitation results are measured in circumference reduction. Fat cells are disrupted and their contents metabolized, but overall body weight change is modest. The visual and measurable change is in the circumference of the treated area as the fat layer thins progressively across the series.

Most Duluth patients see their best results when they combine cavitation with RF body sculpting in the same session. The RF component tightens skin as the fat layer reduces. The electromagnetic stimulation builds underlying muscle definition. The combined treatment addresses what cavitation alone cannot: skin tightening and muscle tone.

Treatment Areas

Body Areas Treated with Cavitation for Duluth Patients

Abdomen and Flanks

The most commonly treated area. Cavitation targets the subcutaneous fat layer creating the rounded appearance of the lower abdomen and flanks. Progressive circumference reduction over 6-10 sessions.

Inner and Outer Thighs

Inner thigh fat is one of the most exercise-resistant deposits in the body. Outer thigh and hip fat responds well to cavitation. Both areas are commonly treated in the same session.

Upper Arms

Soft fat on the posterior upper arm responds to cavitation series. Best results when combined with RF body sculpting to simultaneously tighten the overlying skin and build underlying tricep tone.

Back Fat and Bra Line

The fat that accumulates along the bra line and upper and lower back responds well to cavitation. Often treated in combination with the flanks for a comprehensive circumferential reduction.

Love Handles

The fat deposits at the sides of the waist above the hip are a primary target for cavitation. Progressive reduction over a series of sessions produces measurable circumference change in this area.

Combined Protocol Areas

Multiple areas can be treated in the same session. Your aesthetician designs a session plan covering your target areas within the 60-90 minute appointment window available.

Why Duluth Patients Choose Tactus Health

Clinical Protocol. Measured Progress. Combination Options.

Cavitation at Tactus Health is not a standalone menu item. Your aesthetician takes baseline measurements before your first session, tracks circumference reduction across your series, and adjusts your protocol based on your progress.

Duluth patients choose Tactus Health because our provider’s clinical oversight applies to body contouring the same way it applies to our injectable and laser services. You are in a medical practice, not a franchise spa offering cavitation as an upsell.

Your Session

What to Expect at Your Cavitation Session

01
Consultation and Measurement
At your first session your aesthetician takes baseline circumference measurements of the treatment areas and reviews your goals and health history. Your session protocol and spacing schedule are confirmed. Measurements are tracked at each subsequent session.
02
Gel Application
A conductive gel is applied to the treatment area. The gel ensures good contact between the transducer and the skin surface for consistent soundwave delivery. The gel is warm and the application is comfortable.
03
Cavitation Treatment (30-45 min)
The handheld transducer is moved slowly across the treatment area in overlapping circular motions. The handpiece feels warm. A faint buzzing may be audible near the treatment area. Most patients find the session deeply relaxing. Multiple areas can be treated sequentially.
04
Hydrate and Return to Normal
Drink at least 2 liters of water after your session to support lymphatic clearance. Return to all normal activities immediately, including exercise. Results develop over the 3-5 days following each session as fat cell contents are metabolized.

She is responsible for the protocols our medical team follows, and for the training of the clinicians who deliver them. Holding both certifications is why those protocols treat hormones, mood, sleep and metabolism as one system rather than five separate appointments.

Common Questions

Cavitation FAQ for Duluth Patients

What should I do before and after cavitation sessions?

Before each session drink at least 2 liters of water. Good hydration supports the lymphatic clearance of released fat cell contents. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and after. After each session continue drinking water, avoid heavy meals for a few hours, and light exercise can support lymphatic drainage. Your aesthetician provides full preparation and aftercare instructions at your first session.

What is the difference between cavitation and liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure performed under anesthesia that physically removes fat cells through suction. It produces dramatic single-session results with surgical recovery time. Cavitation is non-surgical, uses soundwave energy to disrupt fat cell membranes, and requires a series of sessions for progressive results with no downtime. Cavitation is best suited for patients who want non-surgical reduction of moderate fat deposits.

Can I do cavitation if I am on GLP-1 weight loss medication?

Yes, with appropriate timing. If you are actively losing weight on GLP-1 therapy, it is generally better to allow your weight to stabilize before starting a cavitation series. Our provider can advise on the right timing at your consultation if you are a current weight loss patient at Tactus Health.

What makes Tactus Health different for cavitation?

At Tactus Health, cavitation is performed by licensed aestheticians under our provider’s clinical oversight. Your treatment areas, session spacing, and combination protocol are designed based on a clinical assessment of your anatomy and goals. We track circumference measurements across your series to monitor your progress.
