Who the Advanced Is For
The manufacturer positions the Advanced for patients typically over 40: skin that has lost some firmness, lines that are there at rest and not only when you smile, and a coarser texture that a lighter peel does not reach. It is the formula for skin the manufacturer describes as difficult to penetrate.
It is not a first peel for most people. We usually want to have seen how your skin handles the Original before we go deeper, unless your skin history makes the case clearly.

What Is in the Advanced
The Advanced is built on the same VI Peel base as every other formula: TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol and vitamin C. The manufacturer describes it as the deepest-penetrating peel in the range, formulated to reinvigorate collagen-depleted skin and support collagen stimulation, which is why it is reserved for skin that has the resilience to take it.
It reaches the papillary dermis, the medium-depth layer, like every VI Peel. What differs is how the formula is tuned, not the protocol.
What the Seven Days Look Like
About 30 minutes in the clinic. Warmth and tingling for a few minutes while the solution goes on in layers; you leave looking slightly flushed or tan, with your post-peel kit. Nothing on the skin for the first four hours, not even sunscreen.
Skin feels tight and can look darker. Flaking usually starts on day two. No exercise for 72 to 96 hours, and only the products from your kit on your face.
Peeling is at its most visible. Do not pull or pick at it; trim loose edges if you must. Makeup can cover it. Stay out of direct sun and wear the kit SPF every morning.
Peeling eases on day six and most people have stopped by day seven. Your follow-up appointment checks the result and plans the next peel if a series is recommended.

How many sessions do I need? Many patients see meaningful results from a single treatment. For melasma, significant hyperpigmentation, or acne scarring, a series of 2-3 peels spaced 4-6 weeks apart is typically recommended. Our medical team will advise at your free consultation.
A Good Fit, and When to Tell Us First
The right-hand list comes from the manufacturer and is not exhaustive. We screen for every item at the free consultation, and none of it is a call you have to make alone.

It is the deepest-penetrating formula in the range, so plan for the full seven-day process. The timeline is the same shape as the other formulas: flaking by day two, peeling days three to five, easing by day six.
Usually we prefer to see how your skin responds to the Original first. If your skin history makes the case for going straight to the Advanced, we will say so at the consultation rather than default to it.
