PRP Facial in Gwinnett County, GA
Platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood — applied to stimulate collagen production, accelerate cell turnover, and improve texture, tone, and radiance using your body’s own healing mechanisms. Performed by Dr. Ashar at Tactus Health in Sugar Hill.
No Synthetics. No Fillers. Just Your Own Biology Working at Full Capacity.
Every product on the market claims to stimulate collagen. PRP actually does it — because the growth factors driving the process come from your own blood. Platelet-rich plasma contains a concentrated array of proteins that signal your skin cells to regenerate, repair, and produce collagen. When applied via microneedling channels, these signals reach the dermis where the structural work happens. The result is improved texture, reduced fine lines, better tone, and a radiance that looks like your skin is working the way it did when you were younger. Because in a meaningful sense, it is.
What Is a PRP Facial?
Platelet-rich plasma is derived by drawing a small amount of your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and applying the resulting PRP to the skin. Platelets contain growth factors — proteins that signal cells to repair, regenerate, and produce collagen. When applied to the skin via microneedling channels, these growth factors stimulate deep cellular activity that no topical product can replicate.
The PRP facial at Tactus Health is typically combined with microneedling — creating microchannels that allow the PRP to penetrate deeply into the dermis where it has the greatest effect. Sometimes called a “vampire facial” in popular culture, at a clinical level it is a precise regenerative medicine technique with a strong evidence base.
Results build over 4–6 weeks as collagen production peaks. Skin texture, tone, fine lines, and radiance all improve. The treatment is well-tolerated, with 24–48 hours of mild redness post-procedure. A series of 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart produces the most comprehensive improvement.
Medical procedure notice. PRP involves venipuncture (a blood draw). All PRP treatments at Tactus Health are performed by Dr. Ashar, DNP, APRN personally — not delegated to a technician.
How PRP Facial Works
Three steps. Your own biology doing the work.
A small blood sample is drawn from your arm. The sample is placed in a centrifuge that spins to separate the blood components. The resulting platelet-rich plasma layer is concentrated to contain 5–10x the normal platelet count.
Your face is numbed with topical anesthetic. A medical-grade microneedling device creates thousands of precise micro-channels in the dermis, triggering the wound-healing response and creating pathways for the PRP to penetrate where it has the greatest regenerative effect.
The concentrated PRP is applied topically and massaged into the micro-channeled skin. Growth factors — including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and EGF — penetrate into the dermis and signal fibroblasts to produce collagen. Results build progressively over 4–6 weeks.
Why results look natural: PRP doesn’t add anything foreign to your skin. It amplifies your own healing mechanisms. The collagen produced is yours. The improvement is real regeneration, not a temporary surface effect.
The Medical Standard Matters Here More Than Anywhere Else.
PRP involves a blood draw, centrifuge processing, and deep dermal application. Done incorrectly — wrong centrifuge speed, contaminated preparation, improper depth — results range from disappointing to risky.
At Tactus Health, Dr. Ashar performs every PRP treatment personally. Her clinical background in advanced practice medicine means she understands the hematology behind PRP preparation and the anatomy behind proper application depth. This is not a treatment to hand to an uncredentialed technician.

PRP facial is a regenerative treatment. It addresses concerns that have a cellular basis — texture, tone, and structure.

Dr. Ashar N.
Dr. Ashar holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and two national board certifications, one in family practice and one in psychiatric mental health.
She founded Tactus Health to close the gap she watched her own family fall through: symptoms that were real, labs that came back normal, and no one willing to connect the two.
She is responsible for the protocols our medical team follows, and for the training of the clinicians who deliver them. Holding both certifications is why those protocols treat hormones, mood, sleep and metabolism as one system rather than five separate appointments.
A Series Produces Results. A Relationship Maintains Them.
PRP produces cumulative improvement across a series of 3 sessions. The first activates the healing response. The second builds on that foundation. The third consolidates the gains. Skipping sessions or extending the interval beyond 6 weeks reduces the compounding effect.
At Tactus Health, Dr. Ashar tracks your skin’s response across the series and adjusts the protocol — microneedling depth, PRP concentration, treatment areas — based on what she sees progressing. That precision is only possible when the same provider performs every session.

Is PRP Facial Safe?
PRP facial has an excellent safety profile because it uses your own biological material — autologous PRP carries virtually no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The risks that exist are primarily related to the microneedling component and proper technique.

Maintaining Your Results
PRP produces the best results across a series. Here is how to protect and extend what you build.
Three sessions at 4-week intervals produces the compounding effect that drives the most significant results. Each session builds on the inflammatory and regenerative response triggered by the last. Completing the full series is more effective than a single session of any depth.
After completing your initial series, 1–2 maintenance sessions per year preserves dermal density and collagen quality. Most patients schedule their maintenance session when they notice skin quality beginning to change — typically 9–12 months after the series.
Medical-grade retinoids, growth factor serums, and consistent SPF extend the results of a PRP series. Your practitioner can recommend a post-treatment skincare protocol tailored to your skin’s response at your follow-up visit.

PRP Facial FAQ
Yes. A small blood sample is drawn from your arm — typically 10–20ml, similar to a routine lab draw. The blood is processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets into PRP. There is no way to obtain autologous PRP without a blood draw, and no synthetic substitute produces the same results. The blood draw is performed by Dr. Ashar personally.
Standard microneedling triggers collagen production through controlled micro-injury. PRP microneedling does the same, but also saturates the micro-channels with growth factors — amplifying and extending the regenerative signal. The combination produces more significant texture improvement, faster healing, and longer-lasting results than microneedling alone.
Three sessions spaced 4 weeks apart is the standard protocol for most skin concerns. Acne scarring may benefit from additional sessions. After the series, most patients maintain with 1–2 sessions per year. The compounding effect of the series is significantly better than three individual sessions at longer intervals.
Topical numbing anesthetic is applied to the face before microneedling. Most patients describe the treatment as pressure with warmth rather than pain. The blood draw is a standard venipuncture — a brief pinch. Sensitive areas like the forehead and upper lip may feel more intense but are still manageable with the numbing protocol.
Most patients notice a radiance improvement within 2 weeks. The most significant results appear at 4–6 weeks as collagen production peaks. Full effect from a single session is visible at approximately 8–12 weeks. With a series, results compound — each session adds to the foundation built by the last.
Mild to moderate redness for 24–48 hours, similar to a moderate sunburn. Skin may feel tight and dry for 3–5 days. Avoid active skincare (retinoids, acids, vitamin C) for 72 hours. Avoid heat and intense exercise for 24 hours. Mineral makeup can be applied the following day if needed.
Yes. Botox addresses dynamic muscle activity. Fillers restore volume. PRP improves skin quality at the cellular level. These modalities address different aspects of facial aging and are frequently used together. Generally PRP is scheduled 2–4 weeks away from filler appointments to avoid interference with PRP integration.
