Will my hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?
No. Dermaplaning cuts fine hair at the surface without changing the follicle. It does not make hair grow back thicker or darker.
What does dermaplaning feel like?
You may feel a light scraping sensation as the blade moves across your skin. Tell your aesthetician if anything feels uncomfortable so they can adjust or stop.
How long do dermaplaning results last?
Usually around three to four weeks. Fine hair grows back and skin cells shed on their own cycle, so the smoother feel fades gradually and how long you notice it varies. Most patients book every four to six weeks to stay ahead of it.
How should I prepare for my dermaplaning visit?
Come with clean skin and no makeup if you can, and pause exfoliating products such as retinoids, scrubs and acid treatments for a few days beforehand. Avoid waxing or sunburn on the area. Can I wear makeup after dermaplaning?
